We use cookies and similar technologies on mtf.ie to operate our website, improve user experience, measure performance, and—if you consent—provide analytics and/or personalised content.

2) What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. They can be “first‑party” (set by us) or “third‑party” (set by our service providers or partners). Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, pixels, SDKs, and tags. For simplicity, we call them all “cookies.”

3) How we use cookies (purposes & legal bases)

We only set non‑essential cookies after you provide consent via our cookie banner. You can withdraw consent at any time (see Section 7).

Note: We do not use advertising cookies unless explicitly stated and consented to in our banner.

Cookie lifetimes are listed above. Analytics data retention (in tools like Google Analytics) is set to 14 months unless otherwise noted. We periodically review and minimize retention. Server‑side logs for security are retained for 365 days unless an investigation requires longer.

6) Third parties & international transfers

Some cookies are provided by third parties. Where those providers process your personal data, they act as independent controllers for their own purposes. These providers may process data outside the EEA/UK (e.g., the US).

  • Google (Analytics, reCAPTCHA, Tag Manager): data may be processed in the EEA and/or transferred internationally subject to appropriate safeguards (e.g., EU Standard Contractual Clauses and supplementary measures).
    Policies: https://policies.google.com/technologies/cookies, https://policies.google.com/privacy
  • Cloudflare (security, performance/CDN): may process data globally under applicable safeguards.
    Policy: https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/

We evaluate transfer impact and implement safeguards where required. You may contact us to obtain a copy of relevant transfer mechanisms.

7) Managing cookies & withdrawing consent

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time:

  1. Via our Cookie Settings: Click “Cookie Settings” in the site footer or reopen our banner and adjust your choices.
  2. Via your browser: Block or delete cookies through your browser settings (may affect site functionality).
  3. Analytics opt‑out: If using Google Analytics, you may also use Google’s opt‑out tools.

Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.

8) Do Not Track & Global Privacy Control

Your browser may offer “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals. We currently do not act on these signals beyond applicable legal requirements. If you enable GPC and our CMP supports it, we will treat it as an opt‑out for non‑essential cookies where required.

9) Changes to this Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time (e.g., when we add or remove cookies). We will post the updated version with a new “Last updated” date. Material changes may be signposted via the banner or on‑site notice.
